I guess since the US has taken over the leadership role in Afghanistan recently, they figured it would be a good idea to see how things were going.
Has our great Canadian media published anything on this, or is it better if we don't really know the truth?
Oh sure, one could argue that these are recent stats released by the US military, and that there would be no way the Canadian media could have received this information before the US media, but since our soldiers and our military are actually in Afghanistan, one would think that they keep track of similar stats ... you know; to kind of figure out whether this "mission" was a success or failure?
